This page explains how file.ax uses cookies and similar browser storage for authentication, security, and product functionality.
connect.sid is used to keep you signed in and tied to your server-side session.
The frontend may use localStorage, sessionStorage, and IndexedDB for UX settings and,
for E2E flows, temporary client-side decryption session material needed by service-worker download/view.
This client-side storage is browser-local and controlled by your browser settings and site data controls.
Authentication and account-linked features may stop working if essential cookies are blocked or deleted. Public file access can still work where login is not required.
